This bulletin supersedes TSB-21-42A-001REV issued April 2021, to provide clean points for
the Hood Latch Adjustments as listed below. Revisions are italicized and indicated by:
PURPOSE
A hood flutter may occur on certain 2022 Outlanders.
Latch and Bumper Height Alignment.
This is caused by improper Hood
The Hood Latch and Bumper Height must be adjusted to resolve this condition. Please refer to
andcomplete the procedure below, on affected vehicles.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
Certain 2022 Outlander:
United States: Production date prior to March 25, 2021 and VIN JA4J4UA82NZ011177.
Canada: Production date prior to March 25, 2021 and VIN JA4J4UA84NZ603552.
Puerto Rico: Production date prior to April 12, 2021 and VIN JA4ASUAA9NZ012982.
183 trial vehicles (the purpose of the trial is to confirm on the Assembly Line) are excluded by
this clean point.

PROCEDURE
Hood Latch Adjustment
1.
Remove the Upper Bar Cover (secured with 10 clips):
2. Remove the Latch Cover (secured with 2 bolts):
3. Loosen 2 bolts which secure the Latch to the Body and move Latch down to its lowest position.

4. Fasten 2 bolts with fixing torque 22Nm and loosen by 1 revolution.

Drop the Hood from the height of 100mm for the for centering of the Latch.
Open the Hood and fasten 2 bolts with fixing torque 19 -22Nm to secure the Latch.
Install the Latch Cover with 2 bolts, fixing torque 4 -6Nm.
Install the Upper Bar Cover with 10 clips.
Hood Bumper Rubber Adjustment
1. Adjust the height of Bumper Rubbers (passenger and driver sides) as shown below.
a. The height of the front side of the Bumper Rubbers should be measured.
b. When turning the Bumper Rubbers 90o clockwise, the height decreases 1 mm.
