Volvo Chassis - Model VHD - Diagnostic Trouble
Code (DTC) MID 216 PSID 76 FMI 5 Daytime Running
Light, Open Circuit; Bulb Out Message In Cluster


VHD Models equipped with the new headlight assemblies included
with 2021 updates may log fault code MID 216 PSID 76 FMI 5. This
may be accompanied by a message in the instrument cluster advising
of a burnt out bulb in the daytime running lights. Inspection of the
lights may then determine that they are working properly.
Vehicles affected by this issue have Light Control Module (LCM) Main
Software (MSW) part number 24129243.
Trucks displaying the bulb out message in the instrument cluster
and/or logging PSID 76 FMI 5 when the daytime running lights are
functioning properly with the software indicated above may have an
error in parameter settings that enables a function not utilized by the
new headlight assemblies. To correct this, the parameters will need to
be disabled.
1. Run operation 1700-22-03-03 Parameter Programming, located
under the Program tab in Premium Tech Tool (PTT)
2. Change parameters SBU and SBE to a value of 0 (zero).
3. Program the LCM (MID 216).

