Condition
Customer may comment that the adaptive cruise is inoperative with adaptive cruise
control temporarily unavailable message and DTC U0422 in the EBCM. The regular
cruise may work when this happens.
Cause
Concerns with the front seatbelts can cause the DTC U0422 in the EBCM and an
adaptive cruise control concern.
Correction:
Use GDS 2 to monitor the SDM data and look at both the driver’s and passenger’s seat belt status. They should
change between buckled and unbuckled. If they do not change or don’t read buckled or unbuckled, diagnose the
seatbelt concern prior to the adaptive cruise concern.
