If the drain valve in the engine air intake hose becomes clogged with debris, it is possible that
water may potentially enter the air intake system and affect the air filter, engine, turbocharger
or intercooler in limited instances.
Remove the drain valve from the air intake hose.
On or about September 07, 2021, the campaign code will be applied to affected vehicles.

This campaign expires on September 07, 2022. Repairs must be performed on or before this
date to be eligible for payment. Keep this expiration date in mind when scheduling customers
for this action. If a customer wishes to have this service performed after the expiration date,
your dealerships normal parts and labor cost associated with this repair will apply.

Remove drain valve from air intake hose.

Section A - Check for Previous Repair

Section B – Repair Procedure

The drain flap <1> is located on the air intake
hose , near the right headlamp .

Raise the vehicle.

The drain flap can be reached between the
right wheel housing liner  and the right
front longitudinal member .

Remove the drain valve from the air intake.

The drain valve to be removed  is
made of rubber and can be pulled off the air
intake without using much force.
