Normal engine lubricating oil carryover from the closed crankcase ventilation system
Malfunctioning closed crankcase ventilation system
Malfunctioning closed crankcase ventilation system drain tube(s)
Verification
Presence of engine lubricating oil in turbocharger during inspection for any reason
Visual lubricating engine oil leaks from charge air cooler piping
Fault Code 2988 or 2989
