Condition
Customer states:
 The overhead image on the right side of the
screen is sporadically not displayed correctly.
 A black box might be overlaid over the picture
(Figure 1).
 The overhead image is shown correctly after
approximately 15 seconds or if the “camera”
button is pressed. The regular rear-view image
is correctly displayed on the left side of the
display (Figure 2).

Applies to vehicles with high-voltage components:
To prevent charging of the high-voltage battery during the software update, the high-voltage cable is to be
removed BEFORE entry of the SVM code on vehicles with high-voltage components.

Charging the high-voltage battery during a software update can damage the high-voltage components.
SVM Update Instructions
1. Follow all instructions in TSB 2011732: 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
2. Update the driver assistance system control module, J1121 (address word 00A5) using the SVM action code
as listed in the table below, if necessary:
Note:
Since the driver assistance system control module, J1121 (address word 00A5) adaption and parameters are
updated, it is possible that the customer’s driver-assist settings are reverted to factory settings. Please inform the
customer about this system behavior before running the update.
