PURPOSE
Customers may express a concern about the Wireless Charger failing to charge devices. KOSECU has been updated to restore the charging functionality.
Upon customer complaint basis, please replace the KOS-ECU with a new part.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
• 2022 Outlander vehicles with the following Cut-Off VIN (October 25, 2021):
 JA4J3VA84NZ045789 (USA, Puerto Rico)
 JA4J4UA85NZ611630 (CANADA)
PROCEDURE NOTES
When replacing the KOS-ECU please note that the manual may refer to Keyless Operation
System (KOS) as "Hands Free Module (HFM)".
Follow the Service Manual as appropriate for replacement of the KOS-ECU/HFM-ECU and
also reference: MDL > service > service tech resources > Service Related Items > ID Codes
Registration Instructions > 2022 Outlander.
PARTS
Old part numbers for KOS-ECU may still be used for vehicles that are not equipped with the
Wireless Charger function.
