GT350-R - DRIVER SELECTABLE SUSPENSION MALFUNCTION SERVICE REQUIRED MESSAGE WITH DTC C103E - BUILT ON 11/1/2015 AND THROUGH 12/21/2015 TSB 16-0040 FORD: 2016 Mustang ISSUE Some 2016 Mustang GT350-R vehicles built on 11/1/2015 and through 12/21/2015 may display Driver Selectable Suspension Malfunction Service Required in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) message center along with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C103E:00 when driving with the spacer blocks removed and less than 160 Km (100 miles) on the odometer. ACTION Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition. SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Connect the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) service tool or equivalent scan tool, to the data link connector (DLC). Does the vehicle have DTC C103E:00? a. Yes - proceed to Step 2. b. No - this article does not apply. 2. Reprogram the vehicle dynamics module (VDM) to the latest calibration using integrated diagnostic system (IDS) release 99.03 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraftservice.com. 3. Raise the vehicle on a hoist, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 100-02. a. The suspension must be unloaded with the wheel and tire assemblies hanging down. 4. Perform the ride height sensor calibration routine. Follow the instructions in the IDS scan tool. OPERATION 160040A DESCRIPTION TIME 2016 Mustang: Retrieve DTCs Reprogram The VDM And Perform The Ride Height Sensor Calibration (Do Not Use With Any Other Labor Operations) 0.4 Hr. WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage And Emissions Warranty Coverage Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.
