This is to notify you of an Emission Service Campaign launch regarding the replacement of the Vehicle Emission Control Information label on
38 Model Year ("MY") 2021 (223 platform) vehicles. Affected VINs will be flagged in VMI as "OPEN" on August 20, 2021.
Background
Issue
Mercedes-Benz AG ("MBAG"), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that
on certain Model Year (“MY”) 2021 S-Class (223 platform) vehicles, the Vehicle Emission Control
Information label may not correspond to the certified classification.
What We’re Doing
MBUSA will conduct an Emission Service Campaign in which an authorized Mercedes-Benz
dealer will replace the Vehicle Emission Control Information label on the affected vehicles.

Replace Vehicle Emissions Control Information Label
Mercedes-Benz AG (“MBAG”), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on
certain Model Year (“MY”) 2021 S-Class (223 platform) the vehicle emissions control information label
may not correspond to the certified classification. Therefore, the vehicle emissions control information
label should be replaced on the affected vehicles.
Prior to performing this Campaign:

VMI must always be checked before performing campaigns to verify that the campaign is required on
a specific vehicle. Always check for any other open campaigns, and perform accordingly.

Please review the entire Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.
Approximately 38 vehicles are affected.

Replace vehicle emissions control information label
Model 223
Work procedure
1. Open hood.
2. Replace vehicle emissions control information label (Figure 1) on hood.
The new information label must include the text "PC" instead of "CA" (Figure 2).
For model 223 – bonding position 3.4. see (Figure 3).
Use a hot air gun to remove the old information label.
Perform a thorough cleaning to remove contamination and adhesive residues from the old information label.
