Classification: Reference: DA21-006 Date: NTB21-114 December 9, 2021 FALSE ACTIVATION OF REAR AEB APPLIED VEHICLES: APPLIED SYSTEM: 2021 Rogue (T33) Automatic Emergency Braking IF YOU CONFIRM If the customer states that the Rear Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) is activating when there does not appear to be anything behind the vehicle, AND/OR Rear AEB activation occurs while backing down a sloped driveway. ACTION Perform automatic reconfiguration of the sonar control unit with C-III plus. IMPORTANT: The purpose of ACTION (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire SERVICE PROCEDURE as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair. Nissan Bulletins are intended for use by qualified technicians, not 'do-it-yourselfers'. Qualified technicians are properly trained individuals who have the equipment, tools, safety instruction, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. See your Nissan dealer to determine if this applies to your vehicle. 1/8 SERVICE PROCEDURE IMPORTANT: Before starting, make sure: ASIST on the CONSULT PC has been synchronized (updated) to the current date. All CONSULT-III plus (C-III plus) software updates (if any) have been installed. Sonar Control Unit Configuration 1. Connect the Vehicle Interface (VI) to the vehicle. 2. Turn the ignition ON with the engine OFF. 3. Start CONSULT-III plus (C-III plus) on the CONSULT PC. The serial number will display when the VI is recognized. VI is recognized Figure 1 2/8 NTB21-114 4. Select Re/programming, Configuration. Figure 2 5. Use the arrows (if needed) to view and read all precautions. 6. Check the box confirming the precautions have been read. 7. Select Next. Figure 3 3/8 NTB21-114 8. Select Automatic Selection(VIN). Example Figure 4 9. Turn the vehicle OFF. 7/8 NTB21-114 CLAIMS INFORMATION Submit a Primary Part (PP) type line claim using the following claims coding: (1) DESCRIPTION PFP OP CODE SYM DIA FRT Reconfigure Sonar Control Unit (1) RX0TAA ZE 32 0.3 Reference the electronic parts catalog and use the ADAS Controller Assembly (284E7 -*****) as the Primary Failed Part (PFP).
