INSPECTION AND REPAIR:
1. Park the motorhome on dry, level paved surface. Place the transmission into PARK
and set the parking brake. Turn off the ignition and remove the ignition key.
Maintain control of keys while work is performed.
2. Block wheels to prevent movement.
3. Use jack stands to support the unit while work is being performed.
CABLE AND HARNESS SECUREMENT
Step 1 Start by inspecting the underside of the unit, on a creeper or using a lift.
While under the unit visibly inspect from front to rear and side to side, along
the frame rails, looking for any lines/hoses, cables and or wire harnesses that
are looped, improperly routed or secured.
All lines/hoses, cables and or wire harnesses should already be secured with
insulated metal loop clamps and black nylon ties.
Step 2
If any lines/hoses, cables and or wire harnesses are looped, improperly routed
or secured use guidance from RVIA recommending clipping every 54 inches or
as needed as a point of general application. REV RV’s recommendation is
approximately 12 inches between points of securement in the engine
compartment area or near sources of heat.
Step 3
Use insulated metal loop clamps to attach to the bridge assembly with
self-tapping screws or threaded mechanical fasteners (must be a minimum
of 6” from heat sources or any moving components). If an insulated metal loop
clamp is needed, use the smallest size clamp that will properly fit around the
bundle lines/hoses, cables and or wires.
NOTE: If there are any irregularities to any lines/hoses, cables or harnesses,
take several clear photos and contact Dealer Technical Support at
(800) 816-9825 before proceeding.
