Update of MY
Vehicle Type:
Cayenne (9YA)/Cayenne Coupé (9YB)
Model Year:
As of 2018
Country/Market:
USA (C02)
Canada (C36)
Equipment:
6-cylinder turbo engine, 3.0 l (I-no. DU6)
Subject:
Fuel tank
Symptom:
Rattling noises can be heard from the fuel tank area at idle speed.
Cause:
During flushing of the activated charcoal filter (actuation of the tank vent valve), the pulsation damper
does not have a sufficient damping effect and this can result in rattling noises. The following factors
contribute to the fault:
•
•
•
Remedial
Action:
With transmission range selected, if the brake is actuated slightly at low load
With activated air conditioning at low level
Tank vent valve operating with a duty cycle of 30% or more
In the event of a customer complaint and if the fault is clearly present, replace the fuel tank with the
new tank type, see  Workshop Manual '201019 Removing and installing fuel tank'.
For a better definition of the fault type, use the video entitled "Video SY - 104/20" in the information
