Symptom-based workshop manual Service 37/16 ENU 9172 9 Eliminating Symptoms in Body Interior: Re-calibrating Surround View Camera Control Unit (for I-no. 8A4) (Surround View camera image rotated/SY3716) General information Symptom On vehicles with Real Top View (I-no. 8A4), the image from a Surround View camera is rotated by 180° in the PCM display. Revision: This bulletin replaces bulletin Group 9 37/16, dated February 17, 2017. Model Year: As of 2012 up to 2017 Equipment: Real Top View (I-no. 8A4) Cause, introduction date and remedial action Cause In the event of very specific low-voltage profiles, the Surround View camera control unit loses its data reference and resorts to a default data record in order to maintain the function. As a result of faulty software in this default data record, the camera images from the front or side cameras are rotated by 180°. Date of introduction Surround View camera control units with the correct software version have been used in production since mid-June 2016. Remedial action In the event of a customer complaint, re-calibrate the Surround View camera control unit using PIWIS Tester 3 with software version 34.500 (or higher) installed.
