Eliminating Symptoms in Body Interior: Re-calibrating Surround View Camera Control Unit
(for I-no. 8A4) (Surround View camera image rotated/SY3716)
General information
Symptom
On vehicles with Real Top View (I-no. 8A4), the image from a Surround View camera is rotated by 180° in
the PCM display.
Revision:
This bulletin replaces bulletin Group 9 37/16, dated February 17, 2017.
Model Year:
As of 2012 up to 2017
Equipment:
Real Top View (I-no. 8A4)
Cause, introduction date and remedial action
Cause
In the event of very specific low-voltage profiles, the Surround View camera control unit loses its data
reference and resorts to a default data record in order to maintain the function. As a result of faulty
software in this default data record, the camera images from the front or side cameras are rotated by
180°.
Date of
introduction
Surround View camera control units with the correct software version have been used in production since
mid-June 2016.
Remedial
action
In the event of a customer complaint, re-calibrate the Surround View camera control unit using PIWIS
Tester 3 with software version 34.500 (or higher) installed.
