FRONT BUMPER MOLDING REPLACEMENT
SUBJECT:
Description: Certain 2021MY Elantra vehicles may exhibit paint delamination on the left, right and
lower moldings of the front bumper. Follow the procedure outlined in this bulletin to remove and
replace the dark chrome front bumper moldings.
Applicable Vehicles: Certain 2021MY Elantra (CN7) and Elantra Hybrid (CN7 HEV) vehicles (VINs
starting with “KMH”) produced between 3/2/2021 – 4/29/2021 and equipped with dark chrome front
bumper moldings.

Note 1: Submit claim on Campaign Claim Entry Screen.
Note 2: If a part that is not covered by this TSB is found in need of replacement while performing this
TSB, submit a separate claim using the same Repair Order. If the affected part is out of warranty,
submit a Prior Approval Request for goodwill consideration prior to the repair.

FRONT BUMPER MOLDING REPLACEMENT
Service Procedure:
1. Open the vehicle hood.
2.
Remove the upper clips (A) of the front bumper.

Remove the lower clips (B) securing the bottom
of the front bumper to the under cover.

Remove the screw (C) and clips (D) securing
the side of the front bumper to the wheel guard.
Repeat on the opposite side of the vehicle.
5.
Remove the front bumper (E) from the side
bracket by holding the bottom (1) and the side
(2) of the bumper and pulling outwards. Repeat
on the opposite side of the vehicle.

CAUTION
Be careful not to damage the
locking jaw on the sides of the
front bumper.
6.
Disconnect the front bumper main connector
(F).

Remove the front bumper assembly (G).
8.
Place the front bumper face down for access to
the bumper moldings.
NOTICE
Place the front bumper on a soft
surface that will not scratch or
damage the paint.

Remove the front bumper side molding screws
(H).

10. Remove the front bumper lower molding
screws (I).
11. Using cutting pliers, cut off the locking tabs (J)
on the side moldings and lower molding.
NOTICE
New locking tabs are present on
the replacement moldings.

12. Press on the locking tabs (K) to remove the
moldings.
13. Remove both front bumper side moldings (L).
14. Remove the front bumper lower molding (M).
15. Install the new moldings and the front bumper
in reverse order of removal.
NOTICE
Install the side moldings first
before installing the lower molding.
Ensure that all locking tabs are
firmly in place.
16. The service procedure is now complete.
