Customer states:
• The message “Electrical system: fault. Please contact workshop” (yellow warning lamp) appears in the instrument
cluster.
And/or
• The vehicle does not start.
Workshop findings:
The following DTC is intermittently stored in the hybrid battery regulation control module, J840 (address word
008C):
• DTC P0A9500 (High Voltage Fuse) with symptom code 28730.
Note:
According to Guided Fault Finding, the switching unit for high-voltage battery should be replaced. However,
replacing the part will not solve the problem.

Technical Service Bulletin
Technical Background
During particularly dynamic cornering, it is possible that in rare, isolated cases, the DTC given above may be
logged without a reason. This is caused by an irregularity in the diagnosis.
Production Solution
This bulletin will be updated when new information becomes available. New software that rectifies the irregularity
in the diagnosis is currently in development.
Service
1.
Explain to the customer that a solution is forthcoming for the first quarter of 2022 and that no repairs are
necessary at this point. Do not replace any components for this condition since this will not resolve the
customer’s concern.
Note:
Please inform the customer that the warning lamp described above will go out if the vehicle is switched off
for at least five seconds.

(under Related Links >> Service), or through the Technical Assistance page in Elsa.
