Condition
This fault may cause an engine warning in the instrument cluster to illuminate. When diagnosing the condition
described herein, it is necessary to verify the data trouble code associated with the P070300 Fault is 00110D of
the DME. This error occurs by engaging the brakes simultaneously with the front axle-lift, convertible top (or
moon roof), rear spoiler and/or the rear defroster.
Technical Background
This error described here results from a difference in voltage measured across the DME compared to the voltage
measured at the electric brake booster. The basic load on the vehicle’s electrical system together with loading from
active consumers can cause this fault to occur.
Service Information
New DME software to rectify this faulty diagnostic is available. When presented with the aforementioned fault,
please compare the present DME software level to the appropriate SW versions listed below, depending on vehicle
type. If the software is not at the level shown in table below, then please update the DME SW using the Automatic
Programming and Coding functions of the tester. As always, ensure the PT3G tester is updated to the most current
software level before programming.
