RCA-78-22-002-1: Inadequate GPS Antenna Signal
Rivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 R1T vehicles. The gear guard
camera wiring, contained within the spoiler assembly, may emit an electrical signal noise to the nearby
high precision global navigation satellite system (GNSS) antenna which is also contained within the spoiler
assembly. The signal noise may result in a loss of the highway assist feature. If the highway assist feature is
engaged when this condition occurs, the driver will receive a driver takeover request with a “Highway Ending
Soon” message on the driver display. If the driver is attempting to engage highway assist, the “Highway Assist
Not Available” notification will appear on the driver display. Rivian will replace the existing spoiler with a spoiler
that has improved wiring that will not degrade the GNSS signal. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer
satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles.

Procedure
Replace: Spoiler, Roof (refer to service manual procedure 603220010).
Important: Follow these additional steps and notes when performing the procedure:
• Use only the primer and adhesives listed in this document.
• Check the expiration date label on the component. If the component is expired: Escalate for diagnostic
assistance.
• Clean the highlighted area(s). Use alcohol wipes or rubbing alcohol on a clean cloth.
• Apply primer to the highlighted area.
CAUTION: Check the product packaging for the necessary drying time.
