Some customers may experience one or all the following concerns:
1) Battery draw which typically is between 5 and 6 amps
Condition
2) Radio backlighting will stay on even after the ignition has been turned o and the
key has been removed for several minutes
3) May Have current or history DTC: P2535
Cause
This concern may be caused by unwanted voltage at the ignition fuses fed by the
KR73 Ignition main relay in the X51L left Instrument Fuse box, with the Ignition o .
Correction:
If you experience any of the above concerns, check for voltage with a DVOM on all the fuses
that are fed by the KR73 Ignition relay. These fuses are all on the same Run/Crank Ignition
Buss Bar, in the Left I/P Fuse Block, and should not have any power with the ignition off. In
some cases, there may only be 2 or 3 volts present, so a voltmeter must be used to check for
voltage.
Example wiring diagram for the KR73 Ignition Main Relays and fuses is Document ID:
4501672.
If there is any voltage on the fuses with the ignition in the off position, remove fuses one at
a time to isolate which module is causing the concern. Once you have located the effected
module, Unplug the module and see if the back feed goes away. Once the module is isolated,
replace as needed.
TAC has seen some issues in the field where the K29F front heated seat module or the K29R
rear heated seat module may be causing the back feed concern.
Note: If you remove all the fuses fed by, the KR73 Ignition Main Relay and you cannot isolate
the concern down to a single fuse, Inspect the backside of the X51L Fuse block in the
instrument panel for corrosion. We have seen some cases where the front windshield or the
OnStar Antenna has a water leak and causes corrosion on the backside of the fuse box.
