This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date. Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin. Confirm the condition exists. Is there condensation accumulating in the HVAC box leaking into the vehicle interior on the passenger side floorboard? YES — Continue to step 2. NO — This bulletin does not apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual. 2. Remove the HVAC drain cooler hose. Figure 1. A. Detach the clamp. B. Disconnect the HVAC drain cooler hose from the cooler unit drain hose grommet. 1 NOTE If the cooler unit drain hose grommet was removed from the body, replace it with a NEW one. 2 C. Loosely cover the end of the HVAC drain cooler hose with a plastic bag, leaving room for air to inflate the bag. Blow compressed air at no more than 20 psi (140 kPa) through the drain tube. Figure 3. CAUTION ALWAYS wear the appropriate PPE when working with compressed air (eye protection and ear protection). Did non-plastic debris come out of the HVAC drain cooler hose? YES — This bulletin does NOT apply. Reference T-SB-0080-19 HVAC Evaporator Drain Hose Clogged Due to Insect Intrusion or continue diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual. NO — Continue to step 4. 4. Install the NEW HVAC drain cooler hose. Figure 4. A. Align the hose notch with the rib as shown and install the NEW HVAC drain cooler hose. NOTICE Do NOT place the rib on top of the drain cooler hose. Connect the HVAC drain cooler hose to the cooler unit drain hose grommet. Figure 5. C. Attach the clamp. NOTICE 1 When installing the HVAC drain cooler hose, make sure it is NOT twisted or crushed. Otherwise, water may leak into the interior. NOTE If the cooler unit drain hose grommet was removed from the body, replace it with a NEW one. 2 1 Clamp 2 Cooler Unit Drain Hose Grommet 5.
