Information:
Customers are complaining about the recurring message “Enabling was performed” on the PCM screen.
The message appears after each PCM start or after it has woken up from bus idle. This is caused by a
runtime error in the communication between the PCM screen and the central computer.

Action required: In the event of a complaint, restore the gateway using the PIWIS Tester.

Battery charger with a current rating of at least 90 A, e.g. VAS 5908 battery charger 90A.

Connect a suitable battery charger with a current rating of at least 90 A, e.g. battery charger

Place driver’s key in emergency start tray.

9900 - Connect PIWIS Tester 3 to the vehicle
communication interface module (VCI) via the USB
cable. Then connect the communication module to
the vehicle and switch on the PIWIS Tester.

Switch on ignition.

On the PIWIS Tester start screen, call up the 'Diagnostics' application.
The vehicle type is then read out, the diagnostic application is started and the control unit selection screen
is populated.

Restore gateway:

Open ‘Additional menu’ by pressing •F7“.

Select menu item 'Function enable' and press •F12“ (‘Next’) to confirm.

Select 'Update functions (gateway)' sequence and press •F12“ ‘Next’ to confirm.

Follow the instructions on the PIWIS Tester.
Reading out and erasing fault memories.

Switch off ignition.

9900 - PIWIS Tester 3 must now be disconnected from the vehicle.

Remove the driver’s key from the emergency start tray.

Disconnect the battery charger.
