PURPOSE
Customers may experience a crank/no start concern that is only exhibited in severe
freezing weather. The check engine light may illuminate, engine may not start and DTC P062D
will be present. Note: This TSB eliminates TIN-22-16-001.
Please replace 4 relays with anti-freezing ones for any affected vehicles that come in for service
(with customer approval) and any in dealer inventory.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
• 2022 Outlander in specific states:
o Idaho
o Iowa
o Maine
o Massachusetts
o Michigan
o Minnesota
o Montana
o New Hampshire
o North Dakota
o South Dakota
o Vermont
o Wisconsin
o Wyoming
• Vehicles built after March 3 and VIN JA4J3TA84NZ073063 have the 4 anti-freezing relays
installed
PROCEDURE
For vehicles exhibiting the symptoms above, please check for DTC P062D. Once
confirmed, please follow the procedure below to replace the anti-freezing relays.
Please contact your DPSM for any vehicles located outside of the affected states (listed
above) that are exhibiting DTC P062D and symptoms.

PROCEDURE (Continued)
1. Turn the steering wheel fully to the left.
2. Remove the 4 clips (front side) and screw to remove the front wheel arch molding piece
as shown below.
3. Remove the 4 clips from the engine under cover and the 4 clips of the front splash shield.
4. Turn the splash shield upwards.

5. Remove the two mounting bolts on the relay box bracket as shown below.
6. Remove the relay box cover.
7. Turn IG-OFF and replace the 4 relays indicated below (INJ, ST CUT, SR MTR x 2).
8. Reinstall all components and tighten the torque of the relay box bracket to: 5+1 N・m.
