Some customers comment on the MIL being illuminated and the technician may
nd DTC P0341 set.
Cause:
This may be due to the Camshaft Position Sensor exciter wheel being bent.
Correction:
Perform normal Service Information diagnostics. If that fails to identify the cause of the P0341, remove the
camshaft position sensor and use a bore scope to inspect the camshaft position sensor exciter wheel for being
bent. If the camshaft position sensor exciter wheel is severely bent and/or making contact with the timing chain,
replace the exciter wheel.
To inspect each wheel segment it will be necessary to roll the engine over by hand two engine revolutions (refer
to the pictures below).
