observe the following guidelines:
Refer to Master Electrical Components List in
order to determine if you are performing

5. Cut pieces from a scrap piece of metal stock, rod
or bolt that is slightly thicker than the screwdriver

6. Remove the screwdriver and insert the shims
made in step #5. The shims should be tight enough

shims until the noise is gone.

Important: The screwdriver should be large enough to
fill the gap, to be effective.

the two gaps. Confirm the noise is eliminated.

further SI diagnostics to pinpoint the cause.

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these
technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper
service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a
job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your
vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the
information.
