This diagnosis may be incorrect depending on the multimeter settings selected by the technician during measurement. Cause: The multi meter range maybe set at 'auto' and during a sweep of the sender from 50ohms to 998ohms the multi meter has to change its measurement range. For approximately 1 second, during the range switch over point, the multi meter display indicates an open circuit. This is incorrectly being diagnosed as a sender fault Action: When measuring fuel sender resistance values with a multimeter please ensure it is not in the 'Auto' setting and is set to 'Manual'.
