Issue
Symptom:
INSITE™ electronic service tool error message when trying to enter injector bar/trim code
Root Cause:
Entering a 10-digit bar/trim code can result in error messages in INSITETM electronic service
tool.
Injectors have a 10-character alpha/numeric bar/trim codes printed on them. INSITETM
electronic service tool requires a 9-character bar/trim code to be entered for each injector.

Verification
1. Connect INSITE™ electronic service tool to engine control module (ECM).
2. Select "Advanced ECM Data".
3. Select "High Pressure Common Rail Injector Setup".
4. Read information listed in "High Pressure Common Rail Injector Setup" and "Instructions"
headings.
5. Verify injector bar/trim codes for each injector.
Resolution
While entering the bar/trim codes, enter only the last 9 characters printed on the injector.
Ignore all preceding characters. See Figure 1 below.
For detailed steps on using the INSITE™ electronic service tool to enter the injector bar/trim
codes, see corresponding Service Manual. Reference Procedure 006-026 in Section 6.
