Remedy Grease/lubricate sealing area of input shaft. • The steering components can be greased/lubricated while they are still installed. Procedure (observe pictures for remedy): 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Detach lower cover of steering column cover in driver footwell (picture 1/2). Fill 2 ml of grease/oil into the syringe (picture 3/4). Move downward along the input shaft with the syringe needle until resistance can be felt (picture 5). Once this resistance is encountered, push in the syringe needle approx. another 4 mm further so that the needle is located on the inside of the seal. Press the content of the syringe into the inside of the seal (picture 6 / depicted in the removed state to aid understanding). If the noise is still present, carry out the lubrication procedure again. Once the noise has been eliminated, restore the vehicle to its complete state.
