Complaint
There is currently a worldwide supply shortage of certain semiconductor components resulting in supply constraints to
specific equipment.
The Level 1 charging cable for charging at household sockets is currently not available or to a limited extent only.
Sales has already notified the markets or dealers about this situation.
If a vehicle was ordered with a Level 1 charging cable and it was shipped without a Level 1 charging cable, then the
customer will be notified through a service measure as soon as the charging cable is available again.
The equipment code (e.g. in VeDoc) can be used to determine if a vehicle was ordered with a Level 1 charging cable. The list of relevant equipment codes is included here in the attachment. In addition to the equipment code for the
charging cable, vehicles as from production year 2022, that were shipped without a charging cable, now have equipment code 77J or 8P0 on file.
For vehicles with equipment code U56, the Level 1 charging cable has been removed from the order. A retrofit
through a service measure is not possible for these vehicles.
At the moment we are unable to provide any estimates for when you can expect the retrofit to be made. We remain in
close contact with the affected suppliers to ensure that the waiting period is kept as short as possible.
The following options are available to the customer for charging their vehicle:
•
•
•
Use of Level 2 charging cable (for Wallboxes)
Use of public charging stations
Procurement of a flexible charging system from Mercedes Benz (warranty cost settlement not possible here)

Cause
Supply shortages for semiconductor components.
Remedy
Do not perform any operations, because the vehicle is in a defined as-built configuration.
Note: As soon as the required parts become available, the Level 1 charging cable will be retrofitted to these vehicles
as part of a service measure.
Information on this will be provided through the usual communication channels for field measures.
