Symptom - PDK transmission - Noises from the Rear End Area: See Information (SY 67/22)
Model Line:
911 (992)
Model Year:
As of 2019
Equipment:
8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (M-Nr. G1F / G1G)
Concerns:
Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
Symptom:
Customers complain about noises coming from the rear of the car.
Cause:
A suspected cause of the noise complaint described here is often identified as an excessively high radial
and axial play on the right joint flange of the PDK transmission and as a result, the PDK transmission is
replaced.
Information
Please note that the radial and axial play is higher at the right than the left due to the design and is not the
cause of the noise.
The play is approx. 2 mm/ 0.08 in in the radial direction and approx. 1.5 mm/ 0.06 in in the axial
direction.
The radial and axial directional play can increase slightly depending on the mileage.
Remedial
Action:
Replacing the PDK transmission will not correct the problem in this case. The cause of the fault must
therefore be identified and corrected otherwise.
