This bulletin provides the procedure to update the Integrated Central Control Unit (ICU) software to resolve this condition. ICU DTC Codes: B2473 (Haptic Warning System Open Circuit) B2474 (Haptic Warning System Short to Ground) Applicable Vehicles: Certain 2019-2022MY Palisade (LX2) vehicles equipped with haptic steering wheel feedback, produced from 4/10/2019 until 11/23/2021. GDS Information: System Selection - ICU: Event # Description 783 783.LX2 ICU S/W UPDATE FOR HAPTIC MOTOR WARNING MESSAGE Warranty Information: MODEL OP CODE OPERATION OP TIME CAUSAL PART* NATURE CODE CAUSE CODE T72 ZZ3 91950-xxxxx Palisade (LX2) 91950F12 ICU Upgrade 0.3 M/H 91951-xxxxx NOTE 1: Normal Warranty Applies *NOTE 2: Refer to the applicable parts catalog for the full causal part number. Service Procedure: 1. Perform GDS Mobile software update per TSB 15-GI-001. 2. After successful completion of ECM software update, disconnect the power connector in the junction box located on the driver’s side lower dash for 5 seconds, then reconnect it. Circulate To: Service Manager, Warranty Manager, Service Advisors, Technicians, Fleet Repair SUBJECT:: : ICU UPDATE – HAPTIC MOTOR WARNING MESSAGE 3. If necessary, reconnect GDS/VCI. 4. Check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes in ALL menus and erase any DTC. 5. Confirm normal vehicle operation. ! WARNING GDS-M Vehicle Battery Low Voltage Warning: When the vehicle battery is lower than 12 volts, the GDS-M will trigger a Low Battery Voltage Warning. If this Warning occurs, A. Connect the battery to a fully charged battery jump pack or GR8 charger using “Power Supply Mode” to continue the software update. OR B. Select “BACK” to exit the SW update. Then, start the engine and idle with the headlights on for 20 minutes. Return to the SW update after charging the battery. NOTICE You must initially perform GDS-M ICU Update in Auto Mode. If the ICU Update starts but then fails in Auto Mode, perform the update in Manual Mode to recover. TSB #: 22-BE-002H Page 2 of 3 SUBJECT: SUBJECT: ICU UPDATE – HAPTIC MOTOR WARNING MESSAGE NOTICE Precautions to take during upgrade: • Perform upgrade with ignition switch in the ON position, but do not start the engine. • Do not turn off the ignition switch. • Turn off all vehicle lights and accessories (heater, A/C blower, radio, seat warmer, defroster, etc.). • Do not disconnect any cables connected to the vehicle and scan tool.
