• Squeak noises can be heard when pressing the brake pedal.
Workshop findings:
• The noise can be reproduced and is coming from the Brake Servo Unit (Brake Booster).
Technical Background
The noises are coming from the brake servo unit rubber boot.
NOTE:
This bulletin does not include PHEV vehicles.

Improved rubber boot was introduced gradually in 1st Quarter 2021.
Service
If noises are identified when pressing the brake pedal, proceed as follows:
• Record an audio file of the complaint.
• Attach the audio file in the DOC-IT database (Include VIN Number in the file).
• Replace Brake Servo Unit according to:
ELSA>>Repair Manual>>Chassis>>Brake System>>47 Hydraulic Components>>Brake Booster/Brake
Master Cylinder>>Brake Booster Removing/Installing.
NOTE:
Replaced Components without audio files uploaded to DOC-IT will be debited!
