Technical Background
Disturbances in the electrical infrastructure and/or charging hardware are detected as an internal fault in the OBC.
This can lead to repeat occurrences of the condition in affected vehicles. Charging of the high-voltage battery is
no longer possible with this fault code present. This topic is currently under analysis for the affected vehicles.
Service Information
If the OBC software in an affected vehicle is 1177, then the OBC can be reprogrammed using PT3G v40.900.050
(or higher) and a campaign code input via Additional Menu [F7] --> Campaign.
Campaign Code E3S3U (re)programs software version 1183 in subject Cayenne E-Hybrid OBCs.
Campaign Code G2S3U (re)programs software version 1183 in subject Panamera E-Hybrid OBCs.
Following reprogramming of the OBC, erase all fault codes and verify normal vehicle operation.
OBC software version 1183 is also prescribed to remedy an error in software version 1177 that causes Fault Code
U112100 DTC D1211D “Data bus - missing message”.
Please refer to Technical Information (TI) Group 2 95/22, “Charging of the High-Voltage Battery Not Possible or
Faulty, Error Messages AfterCharging: Re-Program High-Voltage Charger (OBC) Control Unit” for information
specific to that fault code.
If the OBC software is already updated to software version 1183, then the OBC will require replacement to clear the
MIL and restore full vehicle operation.
Customers affected by this topic are encouraged to evaluate and modify their charging habits (for example, use a
different electrical receptacle, a different circuit, or different charging hardware).
Warranty
Please document customer complaint cases and attach vehicle analysis logs to corresponding complaint lines in
PCSS/PQIS.
