ServiceNews Article June 2022 A22010A Version 2 Diagnosing a Fit Misfire AFFECTED VEHICLES Year Model Trim VIN Range 2016 Fit ALL After 3HG……GM704625, After JHM……GX026880 2017ꟷ20 Fit ALL ALL EDITOR’S NOTE: This article revises the previous version posted in January 2022. When diagnosing a Fit within the above VIN range with a misfire complaint, start by doing service bulletin, 21-007 (Carbon Buildup with Misfire DTCs) instead of replacing fuel injectors. These vehicles use an improved injector design that addresses the failures that may have occurred in previous model years. In fact, fuel injectors within the above VIN range with misfire complaints were collected and found to have no defects that required part replacement. Replacing those injectors may have reduced the number of misfires temporarily, but most likely didn’t address the actual cause of the misfire. The recommended repair for these vehicles is to do the intake valve cleaning procedure described in service bulletin 21-007, (Carbon Buildup with Misfire DTCs). NOTE: • This bulletin also includes information about a PGM-FI software update that may be available for certain vehicle model years. • Injector replacements for misfire prior to doing service bulletin 21-007 may be subject to debit. © 2022 American Honda Motor Co., Inc. – All Rights Reserved Page 1 of 1
