1.8L NU ENGINE WARRANTY EXTENSION (TXXK)
This TSB supersedes 21-EM-002H to revise the Powertrain coverage to engine long block.
Description: The Powertrain warranty coverage for the engine long block for damage related to a
piston slap noise in the upper end of the engine as described in TSB 22-EM-007H has been
extended.
• 10 years/120,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for Original Retail Purchasers, Original Retail
Lessees, or Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle (“Original Owners”) in Cold Weather States*
• 8 years/80,000 miles for all other owners (whichever occurs first) in Cold Weather States*
Please refer to TSB 22-EM-007H (or latest revision) for applicable part numbers and labor ops.
*Cold Weather states include the following: Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of
Columbia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts,
Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North
Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West
Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Vehicles that are currently or were previously registered in
one of the above referenced cold weather states have been automatically included in the
warranty extension.
There are circumstances under which vehicles that are not currently registered or have never been
registered in a Cold Weather State* may be eligible for this extended warranty. Customers can

Certain 2011-2016 Elantra (MD/UD) equipped with 1.8L Nu Engine
Certain 2013 Elantra Coupe (JK) equipped with 1.8L Nu Engine
Certain 2013 Elantra GT (GD) equipped with 1.8L Nu Engine
