The cause of the condition may be that due to a supplier part shortage, on certain Equinox and Terrain vehicles, an optional, validated male buckle design was temporarily used in production of the front seat belt retractor. Bulletin No.: 22-NA-138 July, 2022 Page 3 Important: Both designs are fully validated and tested, and there is no functional reason to replace either or both retractors. If both left and right retractors match, DO NOT replace the retractors. If a customer comments their dissatisfaction with the mixed buckles side to side, the optional design retractor (2) can be replaced.
