Glove Compartment Lid Not Damped When Opening

CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation: The glove compartment lid may not be damped when opening.
Cause: This may be caused by the glove compartment lid damper cord retaining tab coming away from the
glove compartment housing.
Action: Should a customer express this concern, follow the Service Instruction outlined below.

NOTE: The cotter / split pin (2mm x approx 30mm) must be locally sourced.

1. Remove the glove compartment (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, Section 501-12).
2. Using a suitable 2mm drill, drill a hole (shown in
the shaded area) through the glove compartment
damper arm.
3. Install the glove compartment lid damper cord
looped end into the damper arm ('1').
 Install the cotter / split pin into the drilled hole
and through the damper cord looped end ('2').
4. Fold the protruding ends of the cotter / split pin.
5. Install the glove compartment (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, Section 501-12).
