Glove Compartment Lid not Damped When Opening

CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation: The glove compartment lid may not be damped when opening.
Cause: This may be caused by the glove compartment lid damper cord retaining tab coming away from the
glove compartment housing.
NOTE: The split / cotter pin (2mm X 30mm) must be locally sourced.
Action: In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to
install a split / cotter pin onto the glove compartment damper arm.

Qty: 1 (to be obtained locally)

REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Refer to Workshop Manual section 501-12 and remove the
glove compartment.
2. Drill a 2mm hole through the glove compartment damper arm
(shaded area).
3. Install the glove compartment lid damper cord looped () end
into the damper arm.
4. Install the split / cotter pin () into the hole and through the
damper cord looped end.
5. Fold the protruding ends of the split / cotter pin.
6. Refer to Workshop Manual section 501-12 and install the
glove compartment.
