Dear Dealers,
As a result of continuous quality checks on the products in the field, together with your
reports on the involved model, we have found that in some circumstances a Customer reports
a difficult gear engagement due to excessive play in the gearchange lever adjustment slot
where it attaches to the gearchange lever connecting rod (resulting from the loosening of the
adjustment screw).
NOTE
This phenomenon has NO impact on riding safety.
To increase strength, the components listed below must be replaced.
a) Screw M6x20: Part number 77156673C
b) NordLock toothed washer M6: Part number 85540071A
c) Slotted spacer: Part number 96212191A

Customer Impact
Ducati will contact all Customers via email informing them of the availability of this update.
This will allow the Customers to contact you to arrange an appointment.
All motorcycles in your inventory (to be registered or already registered) and to be delivered to
final Customers must be updated during pre-delivery operations and always before delivery to
the final Customer. All motorcycles already delivered to final Customers must undergo this
inspection as soon as they come to your workshop. Note: this is NOT a safety recall.
Parts Distribution
The components required to carry out the upgrade under this Workshop Campaign must be
ordered for each affected frame number.

Warranty Reimbursement Rules
Reimbursement for work associated with this Service Campaign will be made through the
regular warranty claim procedure using the “VIN History” section of the DCS. The warranty
claim is pre-filled and is identified as CR232.
The dealership will be reimbursed for the required parts listed for the operation; screw M6x20
part no. 77156673C, NordLock toothed washer M6 part no. 85540071A, slotted spacer part no.
96212191A; and labor of

1. Position the motorcycle on the rear paddock stand
2. Use a felt-tip pen to mark the position of the gearchange lever (1), as shown in the figure,
so that the lever can be refitted according to the adjustment set by the Customer.

3. Remove circlip (2) from gearchange lever (1) retaining screw (3) M6x20 (Figure A). Loosen
gearchange lever (1) retaining screw (3) M6x20 (Figure B). Collect self-locking nut (4) M6
(Figure C).

4. Take NordLock toothed washer M6 part no. 85540071A. Should it separate, couple it by
having the close toothing facing out, as shown in the figure.

5. Insert the 2 washers (C) on the threading of gearchange lever retaining screw (A).
6. Insert spacer (B) Part no. 96212191A inside gearshift connecting rod slot.
INSIDE VIEW
7. Set the height of gearchange lever (1) according to the adjustment set by the Customer,
respecting the mark made before disassembly. Start screw (A) M6x20 and tighten it to a
torque of 13 Nm ± 10% while holding nut (4) M6 on the opposite side.

8. Check the movement of the gearchange lever and verify there is no interference with other
components and that the gear change operations are performed correctly, both with
upshift and downshift operations.
9. Clean off the reference mark you made on the gearchange lever from before disassembly.
10. Remove the rear paddock stand.
