A notification letter will be mailed to customers advising of this emission service campaign, which may generate questions. Affected VINs will be flagged in VMI as “OPEN” on July 08, 2022. Background Issue Mercedes-Benz AG (“MBAG”), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain Model Year 2021 CLA (118 platform), GLE/GLS (167 platform), C-Class (205 platform), E-Class (213 platform), GLA (247 platform), GLC (253 platform), AMG GT (290 platform) and G-Class (463 platform) model series vehicles, the installed ignition coils may not correspond to current specifications. This may result in misfire, reduced engine output, and illumination of the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL). What We’re Doing MBUSA will conduct an Emission Service Campaign in which an authorized Mercedes- Benz dealership will replace the ignition coils. Parts Parts are available and may be ordered as necessary. Prior to performing this Campaign: VMI must always be checked before performing campaigns to verify that the campaign is required on a specific vehicle.
