This bulletin informs dealers that Harley-Davidson has a mid
year change in how the Touring and Trike vehicles receive its
rear brake signal input.
Year

The Touring and Trike vehicles will now receive rear brake input
signal from a brake switch and will no longer activate the brake
light based on rear brake pressure in the Electro Hydraulic
Control Unit (EHCU).
Touring
2022 Electrical Diagnostic Manual (EDM) and Service Manual
will be updated with this change. See Service Information Portal
(SIP) for electronic version of manuals.

Trike vehicles: Starting with Vehicle Identification Number
(VIN) 1HD1MAF13NB854022, will now be equipped with a rear
brake switch located at the rear master cylinder inlet line on
the EHCU. This includes the addition of two wires to the main
harness.

• BCM: [242B] terminal F3 to rear brake switch [121B-1]
terminal 1 (BE/GN).
CVO Touring
• [121B-2] terminal 1 to Ground (GND) (BK).
CVO Trike
Touring vehicles: Starting with VIN 1HD1KBC16NB645227,
the Body Control Module (BCM) will be calibrated to utilize the
factory install rear brake switch.
