B PARTS REQUIRED: Qty. 1 (AR) Part No. 68484447AA Description Cap, Fuel Filler (LA JL & JT) (Except JL with ECX) 1 (AR) 52030381AA 1 (AR) 57008425AA 1 (AR) 68339343AA Cap, Fuel Filler (DS, D2, DJ, DD & DP) Cap, Fuel Filler (VF) Cap, Fuel Filler (JL & JT) (Canada Vehicles) 1 (AR) 68412848AC Cap, Fuel Filler (JL) with (ECX Sales Code) REPAIR PROCEDURE: 1. Is the vehicle on the RSU VIN list with no DTCs listed above? 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. • YES>>> Proceed to Step 2. • NO>>> Proceed to Step 5 if the vehicle is on the RSU VIN list and has active DTCs. Remove and discard the old fuel filler cap from the filler tube. Install the new fuel filler cap on the filler tube. Vehicles on the RSU VIN list with no DTCs repair is complete. Use LOP (14-60-05-97) to close out the active RSU. Determine which DTCs are present. • P0456 or P04EE are present >>> Proceed to Step 6. • P0455 or P04EC are present >>> Remove and discard the old fuel filler cap and replace with a new fuel filler cap, use LOP (14-60-05-97) to close out the active RSU. Normal diagnosis should be performed to verify no other issues are present after fuel cap replacement. Remove and discard the old fuel filler cap from the filler tube. Install the new fuel filler cap on the filler tube. If DTC P0456 or P04EE is being displayed perform the wiTECH Small Leak Verification Test (SLVT) within wiTECH. The wiTECH SLVT MUST be run first to verify a leak is present and run after repairing or replacing any components to verify the fix. This includes PCM Software Updates to correct P0456 or P04EE concerns. • A road test will not confirm the repair, as P0456 or P04EE are only set with multiple engine off and drive cycles, which cannot be reproduced during a dealer visit. • wiTECH SLVT is the only tool currently available to confirm a fix after the repair to assure the vehicle was “Fixed First Visit (FFV)”. 14-005-22 REV. B -4- When diagnosing the P0456 or P04EE, follow the service diagnostic procedure outlined in Service Library. The diagnostic will also help explain how to interpret the wiTECH SLVT result and determine the best repair solution (Fig. 1) or (Fig. 2) . Fig. 1 Failed Test Screen Fig. 2 Passed Test Screen 10. After the SLVT leak test has been performed and it is verified that no other component is causing the DTCs. -5- 14-005-22 REV. B 11. Clear any DTCs that may have been set. Use LOP (14-60-05-98).
