Customer states:
The drive system warning comes on in the driver information system.
Workshop findings:
• The customer statement can be reproduced
• The following DTC(s) are stored in the Engine Electronics, J623 (address word 0001) and/or in the Electric
Drive control unit J841 (address word 0051):
DTC U041300 Invalid Data Received from Battery Energy Control Module “B’” with symptom code 23085.
The Battery Junction Box SX6 (BJB) for the high-voltage battery has software versions 106 or 206.
The software version can be checked as follows:

Technical Background
Software Error. New software is expected to be available in the 1st quarter of 2023 for Q5 models, and in the 3rd
quarter of 2023 for A7 models (subject to change).
Production Solution
This bulletin will be updated when more information is available. A software solution is currently under
development.
Service
1. Delete the DTC U041300 and release the vehicle back to the customer.
2. Explain to the customer that a solution is forthcoming and that no repairs are necessary at this point. Do not
replace any components or this condition since this will not resolve the customer’s concern.
- A software update for Q5 models is expected to be available by the end of the 1st quarter of 2023 (subject to
change) for Q5 models.
