Symptom 203000 Basic Electrical
Issue
A customer may report that prior to starting the engine or
with ignition on (engine off), an Energy management or
Low Battery message appears on the FCDIM / HLDF or
IPK or both.
Cause 1: Depletion of the Power Budget available to
customer to enable use of vehicle features. (Note: The
available Budget is restored after a Key On/Off event).

Action:
Establish from the customer, if any vehicle features had
been in use with the engine not running prior to the
message appearance. If so advise the customer that this
is a normal function of the vehicle to protect the customer
from experiencing a discharged battery.
If an issue is suspected check the following before
commencing with in depth diagnostics:

Carry out a battery test using a Midtronics tester,
follow the recommended actions as per the
“Battery Care requirements” document located in
Topix Section 414:00.
Check the BMS and Battery cables to ensure that
no loose connections exist.
