Issue:
Water ingress to trunk well
Cause:
Requiremnt for diagnostic.
Action:
If water ingress is identified, review attached document for
potential water ingress points and rectify as required:
1) Check both harness grommets under deck lid and
ensure seated correctly. (Presentation slide 1)
2) Check the seal between the hood seal and panel.
(Presentation slide 2)
Picture shows seal removed and sealant pushed in
correct location.
Sealant should be fully pushed in to ensure no leak path.
3) Check to ensure the battery vent tube pipe grommet is

seated correctly - Behind bumper(Presentation slide 3).
4) Remove trunk carpet for access. Check grommet is
seated correctly after removing boot carpet, inside of boot
behind number plate plinth. (Presentation slide 4).
5) Check Tail Lamp grommets. (Presentation slide 5).
6) Check for application of sealant / putty at the Tail lamp
baffle seam above the rear vent. (Presentation slide 6&7)
7) Check for the presence of a water drain in location
(Presentation slide 8&9) and if missing fit part.
Note;-The arrow on the drain grommet should face the
front of the vehicle.
And it should be fitted from the outside underside of the
vehicle.
To validate the repair, water test after these actions and if
the problem persists please contact technical support if
help is required.
