Windshield Washer System Spray Nozzle Blocked: Replacing Pump and Spray Nozzles for
Windshield Washer System (228/22)
Model Line:
911 (992)
Model Year:
As of 2022 up to 2023
Concerns:
Windshield washer system pump and windshield washer system spray nozzles
Cause:
Customers complain about an uneven spray pattern of the windshield washer system or blocked windshield washer system spray nozzles. The workshop establishes that the windshield washer system spray
nozzles are blocked by plastic particles.
Cause:
On vehicles from the above production period, there is a possibility in individual cases that contact
between the impeller of the pump and the pump housing may occur during the inlet of the pump for the
windshield washer system due to manufacturing tolerances, resulting in particle abrasion.
These particles can get into the spray nozzles with the wash water and block them. These are usually
early failures.
Information
Only pumps with the marking  Affected pump -MES
SWISSMADE-are potentially insecure .
Pumps with different manufacturer's marking (e.g. Cebi,
Continental, etc.) are OK for production purposes. Only
pumps that have been manufactured correctly were
delivered as genuine parts in After Sales.
Affected pump
Affected
vehicles:
Vehicles from the production period 01.01.2022 to 14.09.2022
Action required: In the case of the described fault pattern on vehicles from the production period mentioned, replace the
windshield washer system pump in addition to the affected spray nozzle in order to avoid a repeated
occurrence of the fault pattern.
