NOTE: A Special Service Message is a formal communication issued by Jaguar and carries the
same importance of a Technical Service Bulletin. An SSM is a quick method of communicating
"Need To Know" information to the technical service community. SSM's may be issued in
advance of a technical bulletin or may be the only communication on a given topic. All
information contained in Jaguar technical communications are intended for use by trained,
professional technicians with the knowledge, tools, and equipment required to complete the
procedure correctly and safely. It informs the Technicians of conditions that may occur on
some vehicles, or provides information that could assist in correct vehicle and diagnostic
service.

Symptom : 403000 Exhaust System Concerns
Content : Issue: A Customer may report a noise in the cabin area,
that may appear to be coming from the rear left hand
side of the Vehicle
Cause: This may be due to the vacuum hose on the
exhaust sound vacuum pump, being in contact with the
Body.
Action: Refer to TOPIx, workshop manual section
16768, exhaust system 309-00B.
The attachment shows the correct location for the
vacuum hose and the location for the fitment of an
additional clip. Part number C2S17736 Clip.
Please note, this SSM is interim until a Technical
Service Bulletin is published.
