• The ignition occasionally does not automatically switch on when entering the vehicle.
Workshop findings:
• No relevant DTCs are stored.
Technical Background
The vehicle must first be unlocked before it will automatically turn on the ignition.
Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
Explain the steps needed for the ignition to automatically turn on.
The vehicle must already be in a locked state and asleep.
1. Unlock the vehicle.
2. Open the driver's door.
3. Get into the vehicle with a valid key.
4. Close the driver’s door.
5. The ignition switches on automatically. The green “Ready” is displayed in the instrument cluster.
