• The following DTC is stored in the engine control module, J623 (address word 01):
• DTC P164D00: Oil pressure switch for reduced oil pressure malfunction
• Red oil pressure warning light may be on.
Technical Background
An oil filter that is too short is installed. The oil filter must be 155 (+/-1) mm long. If the oil filter is too short, the
drain flap in the oil filter housing will not be completely closed and oil pressure will be lost.
Production Solution
Improved oil filter.
Service
1. Check the length of the oil filter to ensure that it is 155 (+/-1) mm long:
• If the length of the oil filter is not 155 (+/-1) mm long, replace the oil filter and re-evaluate concern.
• If the length of the oil filter is 155 (+/-1) mm long, follow GFF test plan.
