Issue: Some 2022 Bronco Sport vehicles built on 04-Aug-2022 and through 05-Aug-2022 may exhibit an illuminated
anti-lock brake system (ABS) warning indicator with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C0030:07 stored in the ABS
module. The vehicle may also exhibit a squeal noise from the left front wheel area. This may be due to a condition
where the wheel bearing and snap ring are not fully seated in the left wheel knuckle causing contact between the
front halfshaft and wheel knuckle. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to diagnose and replace the
wheel knuckle, hub, bearing and front halfshaft.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all the following criteria:
• 2022 Bronco Sport
• Built on 04-Aug-2022 and through 05-Aug-2022
• Illuminated ABS warning indicator with DTC C0030:07

Service Procedure
1. Remove the left front wheel hub assembly. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 204-01 Front Wheel
Bearing and Wheel Hub > Removal and Installation.
2. Inspect if the wheel bearing and snap ring are fully seated with metallic particles in the bearing surface. Does the
vehicle exhibit a wheel bearing snap ring and/or wheel bearing not fully seated in the left front wheel knuckle with
metallic particles in the bearing surface?
(1). Yes - proceed to Step 3.
(2). No - reinstall the left front wheel knuckle assembly with a new wheel bearing and snap ring. Road test at a
speed greater than 12 mph (20 km/h) to clear DTC C0030:07. Repair is complete.
3. Replace the left front wheel knuckle, left front wheel hub and wheel bearing, and left front halfshaft.
(1). For left front wheel knuckle, refer to the WSM, Section 204-01 Front Suspension > Removal and Installation.
(2). For left front wheel hub and wheel bearing, refer to the WSM, Section 204-01 Front Wheel Bearing and Wheel
Hub > Removal and Installation.
(3). For left front halfshaft, refer to the WSM, Section 205-04 Front Drive Halfshafts > Removal and Installation.
4. Road test at a speed greater than 12 mph (20 km/h) to clear DTC C0030:07.
