Reason for change
Complaint
Noise can be heard coming from the air conditioning system at higher blower motor speeds.
Cause
Leaves/foreign objects have entered through the water drain grille in the water drain thereby causing an imbalance
and noise in the blower wheel.
Remedy
Remove any leaves/foreign objects from the blower and interior air filter (the blower does NOT need to be replaced).
After this, more fine-grained grilles and sealing frames can be used that are better at filtering out leaves / foreign objects.
Parts required for retrofitting:
Sealing frame (A 247 835 12 00)
Sealing frame (A 247 835 11 00)
Plug-in mounting (A 000 991 56 04)

Steps:
1- Remove windshield wiper as per the work instructions AR82.30-P-0001MFA
2- Remove cover for water drain as per the work instructionsAR83.10-P-1411MFB
3- Release threaded connections (5x 10 mm, 2x 8 mm)

4- Fasten released part temporarily using cable tie to hood.
5- Thoroughly clean body between fender and wiper motor then mount the sealing frame (A 247 835 12 00) using the
self-adhesive tape.
6- Cut cable tie and insert plastic part again. Then thoroughly clean the area behind the mounted sealing frame.

7- Open plastic cap on firewall then vacuum the filter using a vacuum cleaner. Then tighten the threaded connections
again.
8- Finally, insert sealing frame (A 247 835 11 00) and attach to body-in-white using plug-in mounting (A 000 991 56

9- Assemble in reverse order.
10- Place housing cover (A 247 830 95 03) and housing cover (A 247 830 63 03) on top of each other.
