Bulletin No.: PIP5896 Published date: 01/6/2023 Preliminary Information PIP5896 Service Engine Soon Light/Message with DTCs P1967 or P1968 in the TCM Models Brand: Chevrolet Model: Corvette VIN: Model Years: 2023 from All Engine: to All All Transmissions: M1L, M1M Involved Region or Country North America Condition Service engine tell-tale or message with stored TCM DTCs or P1967 and or P1968 Cause TCM Software anomaly Some customers may comment on a service engine telltale, reduced engine power message with no noticeable performance issues. When scanning the vehicle for DTCs the technician may find P0700 stored in the ECM and P1967 or P1968 stored in the TCM. If there are other DTC in the TCM diagnose those first as per service information. If only DTCs P1967 or P1968 are set, it may be caused by a software anomaly and revised TCM software is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2023. Until then Clear the DTC and perform transmission diagnostic service test. If transmission diagnostic service test passes that would indicate the trans is fine and no further repairs should be attempted. When the software is available it will go to the vehicle as part of an Over the Air update. TCM should not be replaced for P1967 or P1968. Warranty Information For vehicles repaired under the Powertrain coverage, use the following labor operation.
